A fascinating piece of history – the oak was originally wall panelling and we have been told that monks removed this panelling to make beds for themselves. They are slightly different in size and style as you would expect bearing in mind the materials with one having a carved headboard, and the sides have been replaced with metal rails, but both beds will accommodate a standard single mattress. They are very substantial with wonderful patina; a fabulous useful and usable piece of history.
